HYROW
28. October 2025
South German natural gas pipeline (SEL)
6. February 2026Hydrogen pipeline from Bobbau to Rückersdorf
HYBOR stands for HY for hydrogen and BO for Bobbau, as well as R for Rückersdorf. The name illustrates both the purpose of the pipeline – the transport of hydrogen – and its route from Bobbau to Rückersdorf.
GASCADE is planning and building the new hydrogen pipeline, which is part of the German hydrogen core network and is scheduled for completion by 2029. HYBOR is being implemented as part of ‘Flow – making hydrogen happen’, the infrastructure program that is significantly advancing the development of an efficient hydrogen supply.
The HYBOR pipeline will connect two important pipelines (JAGAL and STEGAL West), which are being converted to transport hydrogen. With HYBOR closing the gap, hydrogen can be reliably transported to the region and delivered to important consumers such as storage facilities and industrial centres.
HYBOR will increase security of supply and strengthen the independence of Germany’s energy supply in the future. Consumers and producers along its route will be able to feed in or withdraw hydrogen, provided that the contractual requirements are met and the appropriate connections are available.
